The lightning thief - Rick Riordan
In Percy Jackson and the Olympians book 1 The Lightning thief, which I read 5 times, Percy is in Yancy Academy for troubled kids and learns that his Math teacher is really a monster. Once he arrives at Camp-Halfblood he learns what he really is, a demigod, a son of Poseidon the God of the sea. He is chosen to lead a quest to the underworld to find Zeus’ masterbolt.

Once he arrives, he learns who the real enemy is and who the lightning thief is in this action-filled story. He will be attacked by a monitor, a fury and Ares, the god of war.

I like this book because it is filled with interesting facts on Greek mythology and it never gets boring. In this series, Percy learns many mysteries such as he has a brother Cyclops, he is a part of the Great prophecy and falls in love with Annabeth.

Rick Riordan writes books filled with humor and fights that will make you want to read the rest of the series books. He makes every character special and every chapter has an odd name. He makes prophecies that are very mysterious. I also recommend the Kane Chronicles to all Percy Jackson readers because instead of being about Greek mythology, it is about Egyptians when Sadie and Carter learn that they are Godlings and have magical powers when their cat turns into Bast, the Egyptian goddess of cats. There is also Percy Jackson and the Olympians comic book.
